First Case of Covid-19 in Nigeria forcing all schools to close down and subsequently kick-started my tech journey
My house got burgled and my dad's laptop I was using to learn tech got stolen including our generator and some cash
After persuading my parents about the prospects of what I was doing, we went together to fix the old desktop we had at home. It was older than me at the time and ran on both electricity and my blood (electric shocks were incessant)
I volunteered to design a business website for a family friend's business. He gifted me some gigabytes of data. Was a very big achievement for me. I recall telling myself "so your skills are now valuable and warranted this gift"
I posted about the website on facebook and I had someone reach out to ask how much it'd cost to set up something similar for their school. And boom, I got my first tech job. 13k at the time. I felt big.
